About this toolઆ ટૂલ વિશે
Why it exists
Every evening the same question comes up at home: what should we cook today? Families know plenty of dishes, but none of them come to mind at six o'clock. This tool solves that small, daily problem. Press one button, the thali spins, and the decision is made for you.
Who made it
This site was built by Prashant Suthar, a software developer based in Gujarat, India. It is a personal project and is not connected to any company or brand.
What is on the site
- A picker for evening snacks, dinners and fasting (farali) days
- Full recipes for Gujarati, Punjabi and South Indian vegetarian dishes, in Gujarati and English
- A daily suggestion page and a seven-day meal planner
- Festival menus for Uttarayan, Diwali and Shravan
- The option to add your own family dishes, saved only on your own device
Where the recipes come from
The recipes are based on the traditional home cooking of Gujarat, written for a normal kitchen rather than a restaurant. Every family has its own way, so treat the quantities as a starting point and adjust them to your taste.
How the pages were written
Being straight about this matters more than looking impressive. The recipe text on this site was drafted with the help of an AI writing tool and then read, corrected and edited by hand before it went up. The dish photographs are AI-generated images, not photographs of food that was cooked and placed on a table. Everything is checked against how these dishes are actually made in a Gujarati kitchen, and corrections are made as they are found — several are listed in the public repository behind the site. The tools, the measurements and the cooking method are the parts worth trusting; a photograph here is an illustration of a dish, not a record of one.
If something on a page is wrong, please say so on the contact page. That is how most of the corrections so far have happened.
The tool is free
There is no charge, no login and no app to install, and nothing on the site is locked. Running costs are covered by the advertising on the pages and by the Amazon links on some recipes, both of which are explained in the privacy policy.
